How do I know it's time for a new roof?

  • Your roof is old.
  • Most roofs have a lifespan of 20-30 years. If your roof is approaching or has exceeded its lifespan, it is important to have it inspected by a qualified roofing contractor.
  • Your roof is damaged.
  • If you have missing or damaged shingles, or if your roof has been damaged by hail, wind, or fire, it may be time for a new roof.
  • You have water leaks in your home.
  • If you have water leaks in your attic, walls, or ceilings, it is a sign that your roof is leaking. A new roof can help to prevent future water leaks and damage to your home.
  • Your roof is sagging.
  • If your roof is sagging or drooping, it is a sign that the structural integrity of your roof has been compromised. A new roof can help to strengthen and support your roof.
  • Your roof is covered in moss or algae.
  • Moss and algae can grow on roofs in moist climates. While moss and algae growth is not necessarily a sign that you need a new roof, it can damage your roof over time. If you have moss or algae growth on your roof, it is important to have it cleaned and treated to prevent further damage.

If you are unsure whether or not you need a new roof, set up a no obligation visit with us. It's always best to have your roof inspected by a qualified roofing company. We will assess the condition of your roof and make recommendations for repairs or replacement.

Here are some additional tips for determining if it is time for a new roof:

  • Inspect your roof regularly. Look for missing or damaged shingles, cracks, and other signs of wear and tear.
  • Keep your roof clean and free of debris. Moss, algae, and other debris can damage your roof and shorten its lifespan.
  • Be aware of the weather conditions in your area. If you live in an area with severe weather conditions, such as high winds, hail, or heavy snow, your roof may need to be replaced more often.

How do I know what the best material is for my new roof?

01

Consider Your Budget As There Can Be Wide Price Differences

Roofing materials can range in price from a few dollars per square foot to hundreds of dollars per square foot. It is important to set a budget before you start shopping so that you do not overspend.

02

Keep In Mind The Climate In Your Area

The climate in your area will affect the type of roofing material that is best suited for your home. For example, metal roofs are a good choice for hot climates because they reflect heat, while asphalt shingles are a good choice for cold climates because they insulate well.

03

Match Materials That Complement The Style Of Your Home

The roofing material you choose should complement the style of your home. For example, if you have a traditional home, you might choose clay tiles or slate shingles. If you have a modern home, you might choose metal roofing or asphalt shingles

04

How Much Future Maintenance Do You Want

Some roofing materials require more maintenance than others. For example, asphalt shingles need to be replaced every 20-25 years, while metal roofs can last for 50 years or more.
